Science Play Planetarium Wins National Award!

The Play Planetarium by Science Play has been announced as overall winner in the Outdoor Toys and Equipment sector for the Primary Teacher Awards 2013.

Co-founder of Science Play, Amy Charman, is one of the country’s leading outdoor play equipment designers who, disillusioned with the same old red and green plastic, decided to storm into the market with her own range of play equipment and outdoor classroom inspirations based on science themes.

The Play Planetarium for example, was launched last year and immediately installed in 2 schools. What makes it fascinating is that it is the first time anybody has created a classroom that kids can climb all over, sit inside for quiet contemplation, or join with the class in a lesson.

Amy commented on the award, saying “We are so proud of this award which recognises our belief that children possess a natural inquisitiveness about science that needs to be encouraged and nurtured and that outdoor play equipment and classrooms will enhance the interest and learning of science and nature. We are currently talking to international distributors and clients and are working on a number of fascinating bespoke projects in the UK and this award will enhance our reputation as creators of quality, creative play equipment”.
